Italy Ski Trip 2019 – Sample daily itinerary outline

Itinerary may vary depending on weather or snow conditions.

Wednesday, January 9th at 2pm
Meeting at Venice International Airport and transfer to Cortina (2 hr.)

Thursday- We will ski the Tofana and 5 Torri areas of Cortina. After a full day of skiing and an afternoon stroll in downtown Cortina we will return on top of the ski mountain for dinner and we will ski down under the moonlight!

Friday - From Cortina we will ski part of the Sella Ronda starting with the legendary Armentarola ski run for 7 km to Val Badia and on to Arabba and lunch at a mountain hut atop Passo Padon before reaching the highest peak in the Dolomiti, Marmolada at 3,343 m, 10,968 feet! Back in Cortina we will enjoy an evening stroll on main street, aperitivo and dinner in town.

Saturday - We will ski the Cristallo and Faloria areas of Cortina with lunch at one of the mountain huts of the area. After relaxing at the hotel SPA we will choose our dinner location according to the group’s desires for food and/or adventures!

Sunday - Travel and discovery day: after breakfast we will drive through the Alps and explore the Friuli region: possible destinations are the Vajont dam, the town of S.Daniele and its world-renowned “prosciutto” and the city of Udine with the wines of Friuli before arriving in Valbruna for dinner at the Inn.

Monday - We will ski the Valbruna ski area, Tarvisio/Mt. Lussari: lunch on top of the mountain and a relaxing afternoon in the Inn wellness/sauna area before a short drive for dinner in Slovenia!

Tuesday - We will cross the border after a short drive and ski the Passo Pramollo/Nassfeld Pass area in Austria. After a traditional Austrian afternoon snack, we will drive back to the Inn in Italy and conclude this international day with a seafood dinner from nearby Adriatic Sea!

Wednesday - Another short drive to Sella Nevea, a small resort nestled among the majestic peaks of the Julian Alps. A brand-new lift, built in 2010, connects Sella Nevea with the Slovenian resort of Bovec and we’ll cross another border on skis before returning to Sella Nevea. Farewell dinner at the Inn.

Thursday, January 17th.
